Walking Toward Eternity: Series Two - Engaging the Struggles of Your Heart

Walking Toward Eternity - Engaging the Struggles of Your Heart
Walking Toward Eternity: Engaging the Struggles of Your Heart is another masterful study put together by Jeff and Emily Cavins. Where Series One focused on positive aspects in the Christian life, such as love and forgiveness, Series Two focuses on negative aspects in our lives, such as envy and anger. The format is the same for Series Two, so if you have taken a Cavins course before, you'll feel right at home. If you have not, it is very approachable and the learning curve is not steep. The format of the study consists of four days of journaling, reading Scripture, and praying.

Day 1 - You focus on the meaning of the particular struggle/obstacle in your spiritual life, i.e., envy.
Day 2 - You look at how God views this obstacle and why it is important to get it in check in your life.
Day 3 - You examine steps and Scripture on how you can overcome this struggle.
Day 4 - You select the Scripture that spoke to you the most this week and pray using Lectio...

Lazy Town: Super Sports Show W/Fitness Dvd

dance dance dance
my child loves sports and lazy town so this was perfect maybe just not as long as he would have liked

Good Show
My kids just love Lazy Town and this movie seems to be my kids favorite they can watch it even the whole day if I let them do it, this show keeps them very active and motivated for exercise.

Sad that this is cancelled
My kids love Lazy Town and I love that the show talks about good eating and exercise. I'm bummed that the show is no longer airing, and it's difficult to find DVD's of past episodes.

Hakuoki: Record of the Jade Blood Season 2

A Great series hardly anyone heard of.
Hakuoki is a historically based series. The Shinsengumi are the main characters, including Saito Hajime of Rurouni Kenshin fame. I like this series a lot and wish that it had had much more support. The graphics are typical of samurai anime, but the historical info and geography is accurate. The stories are supported by historic fact and as an American who cannot read Japanese, this is as close to history and entertainment as we are going to get. Try it, despite some fluff, you will like the story and the characters.

Love this Anime
Ok, first off, I love the Japanese voice acting better than the English voice acting. I don't feel all the English voices fit all the characters. This season is very dramatic and sad and there are a lot of battles. Honestly there is nothing wrong with it containing a lot of history in the anime. You can take advantage of actually learning something while you enjoy a good anime. Everyone has their preferences but I think a lot of people that watch these kinds of anime and don't like them, way over exaggerate to try to get people to not buy them. So if you read a review that just totally rips the anime apart and tells you not to buy, makes sure to read reviews from others too and you can also go on sites like youtube and view scenes and samples from the anime. Don't just base your decisions or opinions on what one or two people who are clearly over-dramatizing the few issues with the anime and really try to do more research and form an opinion of your own that way.
One thing to...

Incredible Fights Great Heartache At The End A Very Good Samurai Series To Own
While the second set of the series will have us see the final conflict and the fat of the Shinsengumi you will also have the growing romance that's happening become more dramatic as well. The series is an incredible under looked one that deserves more credit then it got and hopefully more people will start to know about the series. One thing if you dislike ambiguous or a questionable ending then this might annoy you somewhat as while most of the series questions are answered there are a few left open ended so it's a little mixed with the ending in general. Again the animation and voice cast were great and if you like action in your anime then no worries as you'll get a decent dose here so if you already have the first set then the second is an obvious must have...

Veronica Mars: The Complete Third Season

The day the CW killed Veronica Mars (no spoilers)
Today the CW officially cancelled the best show on television (understandably, some would say, due to abysmally low ratings). There lingers a chance that the series might be revitalized in a different form, but the hammer has officially fallen. Veronica Mars is unceremoniously over.

Season 3 was the first (and last) season of the show to air on the fledgling CW network. It took a different approach to storytelling than seasons 1 and 2, featuring two separate mystery arcs and a number of one-episode mysteries, rather the season-long affairs for which the show had become known and loved. Despite the change, season 3 works as excellent, intriguing television. The writing is witty and the acting in sharp, as before.

The creator of the show, Rob Thomas, once heard the series described as "Chinatown meets Heathers." That's a perfect description. I would say it also owes heavily to Twin Peaks. Chinatown happens to be my all-time favorite movie. I'm a noir junky, and...

Regardless of a mixed season, S3 DVD delivers on extras (finally!)
Heads-up: This review is for the S3 DVD set as a DVD set, and not an editorial about the quality of Season 3. (For the record, I'd give most S3 episodes a solid 4-stars) This review is more for the VM fans who don't need to be "sold" on the series, but are deciding whether to shell-out $45 for the DVDs, given that the last 2 DVD sets were pretty skimpy on the extras.

The Season 3 DVD set, while it still doesn't have commentaries (not everyone is as chatty as Matt Groening and Co., I guess), it finally includes a few substantial behind-the-scenes extras, most notably, a 90-minute (or so) discussion with Rob Thomas, who walks us through clips and explains his choices. Very episode commentary-like, just more efficient-- you go through a lot of good clips from the whole season.

Chapters from the RT commentary I especially liked were on favorite guest characters, favorite pairings (Veronica and her dad; VM and Logan; VM and Duncan was not included here,...

Third season not a charm
While the first season of Veronica Mars will always be one of my favorite seasons of any show, the latter years just cannot compete. I found the second season too convoluted, and I thought Veronica's likability was starting to fade. The third season, however, is much too simplified. And the worst offense? Veronica Mars, the title character, becomes a complete Mary-Sue. Her sleuthing skills are nowhere near the vicinity of season one, yet everyone falls in love with her and superior "gift." Her college professor wants to vouch for her for an FBI internship, and the college dean writes a glowing letter of recommendation. She's able to stay on top of her college grades while working cases and cooking dinner for her father, and she requires no time or adjustment to do so. And not only does she have Logan Echolls madly in love with her and willing to do anything to protect her, but now we have the annoying character of Piz (Wallace's college roomie) following after her...

Tracks: Volume XIX, Episode 2

Great series, but don't watch if you have Prime
Free Prime viewing for 18 episodes and last four are $4.99 for each part of a two part episode? Not cool Amazon.

Great show
I found this series by accident and have seen every episode. I have found many series that are produced in England and they are as good as those we have here in the States and some are even better.

Still well done one after so many years
I am not really enjoying some of the side story lines, but it is nice to see Mike stepping up to parenting after neglecting it for so many years. It is nice to see so much growth in a show.

Yo Gabba Gabba: There's a Party W/Fitness Dvd

A little misleading by my son didn't care....
It's OK. Nice for a change of format and a good preview of what a live show looks like. Everything is pretty much as you would expect and my 21-month-old wears himself out doing all the activities back to back. They kept the songs similar enough to the originals and reenacted familiar sketches; that kind of repetition may be annoying to us but it's exactly what preschool and under need to feel secure when they're looking for patterns in the world.

I got the impression from the cover that the second DVD would be the usual promo-DVD of "Here's what else you can watch!" That's true. But I also got the impression each episode would be kind of like a Dancey Dance thing. That's not. They're threaded together with a common theme of "activity", but only a few of them inspire participation.

I'm giving it a rating based on what my son thinks minus our shared disappointment in the bonus DVD.

enjoyed the majestic beauty of these birds. This
collection is so beautiful and worthwhile to view.

Thanks.

Birds
Loved the different birds and the knowledge there was. The background on where all these were taken was put together in a way that anyone could understand.

Not just for the birds!
Fun and educational. A real pleasure to watch. You find yourself being drawn into their beauty and fascinated by their life styles. You will smile at their antics and sometimes laugh out loud. Birds are indeed beautiful and this series does a wonderful job of highlighting our feathered friends.

Yoga for Back Care - 6 Routines

Six gentle practices to address various types of back issues
NOTE: I received a free copy of this DVD to review for Metapsychology Online Reviews; please see a more detailed version of my review on that site.

This DVD features veteran yoga instructor Barbara Benagh, who offers six yoga sequences specific to back care. The Main Menu presents the following options:

How to Use this DVD
Interview with the Instructor
General Back Care (Revitalizing) (40 Min.)
Neck Care (40 Min.)
Lumbar Care (20 Min.)
Sciatica Relief (35 Min.)
Scoliosis Routine (25 Min.)
Rest and Restore (25 Min.)
Credits

Benagh uses a blanket in all the routines; there are a few poses that require a yoga block (a thick, sturdy book can be substituted), and two practices also use a folding chair. I have described each sequence in greater detail below, providing more specific time information as well.

GENERAL BACK CARE (REVITALIZING) (40.5 minutes)

Benagh starts this routine seated for a...

Wonderful!
I have enjoyed all of Barbara's yoga DVDs--her gentle demeanor and knowledge of yoga's benefits and correct form are a welcome addition to my yoga practice. This DVD is no exception. In addition to an interview with Barbara, there are six routines of varying lengths presented:

-General Revitalizing Back Care (40 Minutes)
-Neck Care (40 Minutes)
-Lumbar Care (20 Minutes)
-Sciatica Relief (35 Minutes)
-Scoliosis Routine (25 Minutes)
-Rest & Restore (25 Minutes)

The entire DVD was filmed in the vicinity of Glacier National Park, so while you are strengthening your back and learning more about the causes of back pain, you can enjoy the beautiful and relaxing mountain scenery. Highly recommended!

Excellent instruction...
Barbara is an excellent instructor and gives a lot of thought to her routines. Her "Yoga for Athletes" DVD is still my favorite because it is put together a pose at a time and is really suitable for anyone... not just athletes. This Back Care DVD is perfect for specific area focus and time limits... add it to your library!

Cathe Friedrich: XTrain Cardio Leg Blast

Blast your legs with weights and cardio
This 56 minute leg and cardio workout is part of Cathe's Xtrain Series. You alternate a cardio blast with a leg exercise for 12 rounds. Rounds 1- 6 have floor cardio and Rounds 7 - 12 have step cardio. This more of an endurance workout than a strength one because you aren't using really heavy weights. Your heart rate will be elevated for the entire workout!

Like the other workouts in the Xtrain series, there are lots of premixes, both longer and shorter. The bonus workouts are Core 1 and 2. The challenge workout is Hip Thrusts.

Overall, I enjoyed this workout. It's tough, but it didn't leave me gasping for air. At the end, I felt energized not tired.

What you'll need for this workout:

* Step with 3 risers per side
* Dumbbells; Cathe uses 15 - 25 pound dumbbells
* Dixie cups
*Firewalker band.

Why I enjoyed this workout:

* Cathe tells us what weights she is using. While it is strongly recommended you...

A Tale about Tails

Just like I remember
I remember watching this after coming home from school as a kid. I was very happy to find it on Amazon streaming and FREE with my Prime account. Just as good as I remember.

Episode One
One could not help but fantasized what if Death came to a human's dwelling, dragged him out by his behind, grabbed him by the scrub of his neck, poked through the intimate part of his body, grin into his face as if to say "See what I can do to you?" Then tossed him back terrified into his house....Very much the same way Mr Stouffer did unexpectedly and roughly and may I say unnecessary to the possum in the beginning of the show.

Other nature's show mostly watch animal from respectful distance..hmmm

Having said that... There are merit to Mr Stouffer's show..It just made me feel a bit sad when I see that.. IMHO

Marty Stouffer
One can never, ever complain about the magnificent cinematography and Marty's narration! Please to keep in mind the time frame of when this series was produced! As a fan who gre up with Marlin Perkins and Marty Stouffer, well...

Pawn Stars: Genuine Articles

buyer beware
I bought this set thinking it was more episodes from season 2. But all these shows are on the 2nd season 4 disc set. I'm guessing that out there somewhere is another 2 disc set that contains the other 2 discs of the 2nd season. Now they are issueing them by volumn. I wish they would issue this show by seasons. It would be so much easier to keep track.

Update: I found the other two discs on a set called Rare Gems. If you already have the 4 disc season 2 DVDs stay away from these two sets.

The 5 stars are for the show not History Channel's dis-jointed method of presentment on DVD.

buy the complete 2nd season instead
this makes no sense why they are reissuing this in pieces. just very disappointing because the show is so great but they're screwing up the dvd releases.

Samurai Sword: Iaido Cutting and Basic Sword Techniques

Poor return on your investment.
If you are looking for a DVD on Iaido, this is a poor choice. There is little or no step-by-step description of technique. Not a good choice for beginners. If you have some experience with sword techniques you might be able to pick up a few pointers.
I am speaking from 17 years experience in the martial arts, both as a student and instructor.
The quality of the video is poor and was difficult to run on my Windows XP machine. Windows Media Player 11.0 wouldn't run it. I had to use Roxio Creator 10 player.
All-in-all, a poor choice for instruction in the art of Iaido.

SAMURAI SWORD...LAIDO CUTTING AND BASIC SWORD TECHIQUES
MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THIS VIDEO...IT WAS DONE VERY WELL AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE INTO KATANAS YOU WILL REALLY LIKE THIS ONE I AM SURE.

American Pickers 3

Please do NOT buy this item!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the biggest FAKE I have EVER seen! The History Channel tries to make you think that this is season 3. Don't be fooled! If you have Netflix, then you can watch this "Volume 3" right now and not have to wait until June 5, 2012. On Netflix it states that the episodes featured here are Season 2 Episode: 9-16. The REAL season 2 has 28 episodes not 8. It's honestly pathetic!!! Think about it, if you pay $14.99 for this DVD, you are paying almost $2 an episode. That's absolutely CRAZY when you can pay $7.99 for Netflix and get every epidisode of Season 1 and 2 PLUS everything else you can watch. Please show the History Channel that WE are not going to take this crap. Go to their website and write to them that you want EVERY episode in the season and you don't appreciate them getting OUR money by LYING and TRICKING us into believe we are getting the real deal!

Great for Family watching
This show for the most part is G rated; there are a few comments that are more PG 13, but it is so hard to find family friendly shows and this is better than most. I also like the fact that it is a fun way for kids to learn some history while being entertained. All in all we enjoy this show and have watched every episode!

Good Show
I had to counter the 1 star review... if you dont like the price, then buy somewhere else. (yes it's high) But for those who dont worship at the altar of apple, the price isn't too bad if you consider the total lack of a cable bill. I just buy seasons of the shows I like and avoid the overpriced cable bill.

Now, about the show... it quickly became one of my favorites. The duo travel around the country finding "mantiques". Whats not to like when they pick old motorcycles, antique bicycles, rusty signs.

Def a guy show.

Pilates High Intensity Interval Training - PHIIT

Good Addition
I really enjoyed this workout and consider it an excellent addition to barre workouts. You get a nice cardio workout that will not bulk you up. The intervals will work your core, butt, and abs. Perfect exercise if like me you are looking for cardio but want to get toned in the right places at the same time. The time went by quickly and the instruction was very clear.

Excellent workout
The instructions provided by the coach are clear and concise. There are two levels to follow so you can pick your workout and work up to the higher level. Definitely a good workout.

Tosh.o Deep V's
Don't get me wrong i am super excited for the Tosh.O : Deep v's Dvd because i am a huge tosh.o fan but what i can't figure out is why they are leaving episodes out of the dvd collections like the Tosh.O : Hoodies was the first 10 episodes and now the next Dvd is Tosh.O : Deep V's and its episodes 30 thru 41. What about the 6 episodes(cardigans) missing from the first season and the first 14 episodes(casuel jackets) from the second season. Are they just not releasing those or are the going to come back to them ?

For those wondering
Great stuff here!
Between this volume and volume one you are missing 15 episodes.

Those are actually collected in what is being called volume three and it is only available at Walmart (unfortunately)

That collection collects Cardigans and Casual Jackets

Just so you know

I have recently got into this show while catching it on CC. I came to Amazon to find that there is no season sets, but instead this Bluray and another with 10 episodes of the first season. I highly recommend this film. A+

Ever heard someone do a bad Boston accent?
This show could have been done so much better if they would have invested a little more time in the casting ~ and found a few actors who could actually do a Boston accent. It just distracts from the story. While I did enjoy the fairly unique focus on a story that is rarely told and not widely known, I was disappointed in the way it was told. Script and concepts were good ~ begging for a remake; which apparently they accomplished and did a much better job in casting!

Locked Up Abroad: Season Six (2 Discs)

What a bunch of self serving bunk
Wow, this Eric Aude guy is like the Terminator, Bruce Willis and Jason Statham all rolled into one. He doesn't bend under torture, her takes on entire groups of Pakistani prisoners and wins every time, he single-handedly brings down the most corrupt guard in the prison, and prepares himself for his final confrontation with the prison guards like Rocky (seriously, he puts on a hoodie, a beanie, and stuffs tissue in his mouth--looks like six kinds of an idiot). Oh, and by the way, he is completely innocent and had no idea that he was smuggling drugs (apparently smuggling leather goods is okay); he even refuses to plead guilty for a shorter sentence.

Amazingly he says all of this with a straight face and somehow the cameramen manage to keep filming this load of garbage. Totally nauseating and not worth the 40 min; it made me never want to watch Locked Up Abroad ever again.

Very implausible Tale
Generally a fan of this show but there was so many jaw dropping incidents that I just cannot believe that this story is true.

- The embassy in Pakistan sends a woman to a men's jail in Pakistan. I can buy into a lot of missteps and government incompetence but now way would the embassy, well schooled in cultural sensitivity would send a woman as their representative to liaison at an all male jail. And to deliver the news that he would be tortured for 3 days and that they initially wanted 10 days but she negotiated it down to three days? Would love to see someone from the embassy debunk much of this mans story.

- The Pakistani government negotiates with the US embassy on how many days it is going to torture a U.S. drug runner? No way it works like that. I full on know torture is a fact in a jail like that. I just don't believe that they negotiate about it.

- This guy gets tortured for 3 days, probably has eaten anything the whole time and when he goes...

A legend in his own mind?
While Erik's experience in a Pakistani prison is compelling, his arrogance in the telling is off-putting. For instance, he related a situation where, while on a run, he tried, unsucessfully, to engage some young Pakistani women in a flirtation. An older man came out and attempted to put a stop to it and Erik 'took him down.' Absolutely no consideration for cultural norms and mores in a country in which he was a barely tolerated guest. Moreover, his so-called 'John Wayne' standard of handling things in the face of all prisoners against little ol' him ('going down with his thumbs up')just sounded like pure Hollywood posturing and made me giggle like I was watching cartoons. Still, there were moments, like when he called his mommy that I felt his despair. Finally, when he met his mother, as he arrived in the U.S., he looked healthy, albeit a little slim. There didn't appear to be bruises or scars that were intimated in the narrative. I know to expect some 'poetic license' but,...

If you're new, this is a meaner Seinfeld. If you've seen the show before... it's more of the same. I consider that a plus.

The League is awesome!
I don't even watch football or enjoy fantasy football but the show is perfection...Jenny, Kevin, Ralphi, Ruxin (just about my favorite character), Andre, Taco (Jon LaJoie- love your music!), and Pete make this show worth paying for!

The Chemistry 1 Tutor: Volume 4 - Oxidation and Reduction Reactions

Great Set
This is the last volume in Jason's Chemistry series, which is designed to cover chemistry 1. If you are taking introduction to chemistry (or non AP high school chemistry)what you get in the 4 volumes will cover pretty much the entire class. If you are taking the General Chemistry class (or AP chemistry in high school) you will get about 70-75 percent of what you will get in the first semester. The parts that Jason omitted are the ideal gas laws, and thermochemistry.

This particular set of DVDs covers redox (oxidation, reduction) reactions. As is Jason's style in all of his DVDs, he only presumes you have the knowledge of the material that proceeds what you are working on. In this case you need to be very familiar with net ionic equations and Stoichiometry. Aside from that he presumes you are an absolute beginner with redox reactions and walks you through step-by-step, explaining everything he is doing along the way to drill the material into your head. You honestly...

The perfect tutor
I got these dvds for my husband, who is going to nursing school. He watched these before his chemistry class, and he said it made a huge difference. Jason Gibson makes everything easy to understand, and is not at all boring. Get these for any class that you need to take - you won't regret it.

A+ is Guaranteed
Jason Gibson products will help you towards getting that A+. I have purchase mostly all of his products from Algebra, Statistics and now Chemistry. I received an 'A'in Algebra and Statistics just by taken notes from off his DVDs in addition to following the lectures and instruction of my professors. Not only that it also help my colleagues to master a good grade in their course. Yes, I have recommended this product to my colleagues and his material has help them to succeed in their course of endeavor. Hope this review helps

this is a great set it definely brings out the best of barney stinson if i were you i would get it its awesome

A Nice Introduction to the Show
I hadn't previously watched the show. I was skimming the Amazon video store on my Kindle Fire and saw this collection, and thought I'd give it a try. The shows are very funny, and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) is certainly the star of the Bro-Code selections. I think that the six-pack is bookended by the best episodes in the collection, "World's Greatest Couple" and "The Playbook". My wife and I are now catching up on the entire series.

Don"t miss season 2
let the truth be known - jesse and company are on it to find the truth. This season is better than the last.

Conspiracy Theory Season 3
These episodes are very interesting. They leave you to draw your own conclusion. There is a lot to be learned with these episodes.
I would highly recommend watching these and I hope Jesse makes a lot more of them. We need more people like Jesse.

Great show
I love having Amazon for entertainment options. I do have one major issue. Whether I stream a video or download it, I'm only able to view it on the device I used - I've found the system won't allow my to connect to my television to view. This is a major PIA. Otherwise, I like using Amazon.

Best Funeral Ever

I would not mind doing this job!
Event planning at it's best. What a great way to honor your loved ones who have passed over. I'm already starting to plan my "celebration of life!"

Very Different
I will give this 3 stars. This show is so over the top that some of it is surely contrived. However, who can turn away from bad reality tv

Ridiculous, hilarious, & heartfelt at the same time!
Over the top public show of affection that will drop your jaw. Maybe the world has had enough of somber morbidity. Life is being celebrated to the fullest! An absolute life altering must watch.

Crossed Dressed to Kill [HD]

FINALLY, SOME UNFAMILIAR 'ID' CASES...
The number of "Real Crime" shows on Investigation Discovery has grown over the past few years. Unfortunately the the same cases get featured repeatedly without warning to the viewer. So, you'll see the case about the Starbucks employee who kills his wife and children on "Unusual Suspects", "Extreme Forensics", "Nightmare Next Door", and so on. Chances are, if you're a real crime fan, you'll find it hard to discover new (untold) cases. This show...thankfully...includes cases that haven't been featured previously. That makes it worth viewing. The format relies a bit heavily on "re-enactments" instead of old footage and/or real photographs...but hey, I'll have to say it's still worth it.

Enjoyable true crime show
Of course I'm a true crime junkie so I may be biased, but this show wasn't too hokey and the dramatizations were done tastefully...not disrespectfully like some of those ID channel shows.

Great show!
Another great ID channel show. I wish amazon prime would offer more shows and seasons of tv shows like this. Highly reccomend this!

One Horse Open Sleigh

It's lost a little something...
Just a LITTLE something. I still thoroughly enjoy the show, but they've lost a step and it started last season. You don't really get to see them doing any of the WORK anymore. I thought it was really neat to see the process of how they restore those run down antiques. Now the customer drops off the item, and then, two scenes later, it's just done and being presented to the customer. You only get a brief summary of what they did, but you rarely see any of it anymore. It's a shame. I hope they get back into that some day. Still a four star show just to see the restorations though.

Rick and his crew
I am usually a fan of this show but it is getting to seem like it is a little too staged. Less of Kelly would be even better, she really doesn't add anything to the show. Just make it Rick and the guys.

GREAT BUT
GREAT BUT THEY DONT SHOW RESTORING THE OLD ITEM LIKE LAST SEASON....BUT STILL GOOD!!! I WATCH WHEN RERUNS ARE ON

Coach In Love (Part 2) [HD]

One of the greatest sitcoms in television history!
One of the greatest television comedies in history, Cheers is an absolute "must see" for anyone who's ever had a regular hangout "where everybody knows your name". The shows centers itself around the friendly neighborhood Boston bar named Cheers. The bar is owned by former Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Sam Malone (Ted Danson). Sam has three employees - bartender Ernie "Coach" Pantusso (Nicholas Colasanto) and waitresses Carla Tortelli (Rhea Pearlman) and Diane Chambers (Shelley Long). Season 3 witnesses the edition of popular cast member Kelsey Grammar as Dr. Frasier Crane (who would later spawn his own series spin-off, Frasier). Regular barflies Norm Peterson (George Wendt) and Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) round out a strong supporting cast.

The Cheers (Season 3) DVD offers a number of hilarious episodes and begins the ascent of Dr. Frasier Crane, imminent psychologist, as a television icon. Notably, Dr. Crane's stint on Cheers was originally intended to last for only...

Another round...
"Cheers" is the highly-rated sit-com based around characters who frequent a Boston bar of the same name, owned by Sam Malone (Ted Danson) an ex-professional baseball pitcher and recovering alcoholic.

In this, the third season, we are introduced to waitress Diane's (Shelley Long) post-Sam new boyfriend, Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), a snooty psychologist, who appears in a handful of episodes. Perhaps his best episode is when the guys reluctantly take him fishing, but leave him holding the bag in a snipe hunt. He turns the tables on them in the end, though. In the last episode cliff-hanger, he proposes to Diane.

We also meet Carla's ex-husband, Nick Tortelli (Dan Hedaya), who is only a few rungs up the evolutionary ladder. He has a new blond bombshell bimbo wife "Low-Ret-ta". He appears in a few episodes, and is possibly the funniest character of all.

The special features are so-so overall:

1. Virtual Vera, Shrink-Warped: Introducing Frasier Crane, and...

Goodbye, Coach...Hello, Frasier
Another delightful addition to your collection, the complete 3rd season of "Cheers." As with previous installments, the features are a little skimpy; "Virtual Vera," "Shrink-Wrapped: Introducing Frasier Crane" and "Carla's Whipping Boy" are themed groups of clips from the third season itself...thanks, but I'll just catch the amusing moments in the actual episodes. Why not some commentary from the actors on these subjects, instead? Or how about a look at the actual Vera, portrayed via voice by George Wendt's real-life wife.

"Cheers" the DVD gives Nicholas Colasanto as skimpy a goodbye as "Cheers" the TV series gave to Coach Ernie Pantusso (who was written out of episodes with various flimsy excuses in the second half of the 3rd season and was finally written off the show completely at the beginning of the 4th with one sentence from Diane: "I was so sorry to hear about Coach."). In a wee little six minute segment, Ted Danson (who can't seem to keep his facts straight -- Nick...

Les Mills Combat DVD Workout

loving it!
Updated February 17, 2013. New comments are grouped with related material from the previous version of this review.

I got Les Mills Combat early (pre-order) and I've now finished my first round. I have started a second round doing the Ultimate Warrior program with the additional DVDs. (I originally bought the most basic package, which is the one Amazon is selling.)

I have recently completed two rounds of P90X so Les Mills Combat is quite a bit of a change. There has been, so far, a small strength-training component. You would want a barbell or a couple of dumbbells to get maximum results, here, although you don't need anywhere near the number of dumbbells as you would for a program like P90X. I am doing pretty well with a pair of 8-lb ones at the moment (I'm female; men may want to increase the weight).

Another change from P90X has been the amount of time you have to invest to work out. Some of the Les Mills Combat DVDs are as short as 30...

Body Combat Review
First of all, let me say that I love these DVD's. Back in the day when the instructor Body Combat DVD's were leaked onto the internet, I fell in love with the workout. So when I heard beach body was going to take the workout under their wing, I got extremely excited. In an effort to keep things short, here's what I love about the workout:

- Time range: The workouts vary from 30 to 60 minutes. There's 3 different workout schedules to choose from to fit your schedule.
- The music: Unlike TurboFire, the music for these workouts are legitimately good. I'm surprised they didn't market this as a key factor for the workout. No longer do I have to dread cheesy covers of old songs; these are songs I'd actually have on my playlist if I were hitting the gym!
- Instructors: I thought at first when I was just watching the video that the chattering would be overwhelming. It's actually not. Thus far I find them to be encouraging. None of the "You can do it, whoo!" fluff nor the...

Combat Review
I usually hate working out. I have tried Insanity and hated it. After a week of it my body would be so beat up I wouldn't be able to work out for weeks. With Les Mills Combat that is not the case. I absolutely love the workouts. They are short and not overwhelming. Even the longer ones aren't bad such as Combat 45 & 60. I have a back ground in Krav Maga, so these DVDs feel like I'm in a Krav Class. I also enjoy the HIIT workouts. The first time I did HIIT Power I could barely walk the next day. The workout was tough but I found the instructors very encouraging. Not in a Shaun T screaming at you way or Tony Horton's annoying comments during P90X way. It was more of a just get it done we all know you can do it. One of the main reasons I love this product is because I have never enjoyed working out or playing sports, but I have always loved Martial Arts.

Also a word of advise if you plan on buying through Amazon. The shipping isn't actually free, with super saver or prime...

Great show and lots of fun!
This series is an absolute blast. It is not rocket science and on occasion my wife and I roll our eyes, but at the same time we cant wait to see the next episode and series. We are both business professionals and many at our offices cant believe we watch this, but once several of them check out an episode they too were hooked! It is a fun show to watch and we highly recommend it. Give it a try. Just sit back, relax and have a great laugh. It is great fun!

Fine but not great
A lot of bickering to get to the good....unbalanced in that respect for young minds...not great but just okay says this mom.

Great Kid Show That Teaches Values
My wife and I love this show for our children. Every episode focuses on values that a child should learn such as working together, sharing and the importance of family.

ID has better shows
ID has better shows this one. It's okay but I won't buy the entire season. I can't remember much about the show and I'm not checking daily to see if they added a new episode.

Top 5 best shows on I.D.
This show is one of my favorites on the I.D. Channel. It's scary, and to the point. It's not corny like nightmare next door. The narrator is perfect for this show and there aren't any dull moments. I recommend watching this show. I just hope they come back and do another season!

.
I found this inspirational in terms of practical advise on a more modest budget.
My only criticism was lack of details relevant to the tape transcript.
Why oh why oh why was the ommission allowed ??

Combat Countdown
IT is an awesome show. I always get a thrill from watching every episode and I learn something new from each one!

Updated review: Love the variety, kinda lame countdown
I've recently updated my review because we actually watch these now as much as the others. At first, I was very put off by what I would call a lame countdown. One series ranks the M1 highest, but the next the Leopard II, etc. In other words, they just spend too much time being politically correct, so the countdown part I would kinda ignore.

However, we love the huge diversity and new items. They do have quite a few duplicate images from older series', but overall it has turned out to be one of my frequent watches.

It is really fun to see some of the other country offerings...

I'd highly suggest it (remember not to get hung up on the countdown.)

Good info, bad tone
Really good production, categorization, and info. But the voice over is forcedly bland or political - defining cbu warhead effectiveness as "maximum impact on the enemy" - c'mon, just tell us it'll kill a lot more of their soldiers. We understand armies need to do that sometimes, and there's no need to pervert the delivery of education.

Pretty Fierce: Weight Loss with Lindsay Brin & Moms Into Fitness

Extra Details and a Comparison to Insanity
Why I Love Lindsay Brin:
Lindsay is a REAL wife and mom. Unlike a few of the celebrity trainers, she avoids ridiculous or egotistical chit-chat during her videos, and instead gives a positive and encouraging tone to the workout. Check out her blog, her Facebook posts, everything! She is super helpful (and sweet!) and has tons of great information available for pregnancy, immediate postpartum, and regular exercise and nutrition (even how to adjust calories if you are nursing). Her ability to "cram it all in!" makes working out feel accessible, even on the busiest of days.

Why This is Lindsay's Best Work Yet:
I have tried a number of Lindsay's DVDs in the past (CFS Method and Bootcamp 2 were my previous favorites), but Pretty Fierce: Weight Loss is even better! The set design is beautiful (a huge step up from her previous work) and the music is encouraging and energizing, but not overbearing. The workouts are challenging, but in true Lindsay style, all the...

Not worth it if you have any joint issues
I own and love several work out videos by Lindsay Brinn, so I was very excited when this work out was released. I do high intensity work outs at my gym, but it is so hard to get there on a regular basis with my three kids' busy schedules. While my work outs are high intensity, they are low impact. I am forty years old, and years of dance did damage to my knees and my wrists are not the best either. This workout system is VERY high impact.. I found myself modifying almost every workout to such a dramatic extent that the workout I did didn't even resemble the original work out on the DVD. I had to come up with most of my modifications myself. Some modifications were mentioned, but unlike most work out videos I've purchased in the past, they are not demonstrated, so you just have to figure them out yourself, and hope your form is correct. LOTS of moves on the floor that are burpees and push ups. And even though I run five to six miles several times a week, this workout had so much...

Also great for dad!
I have been working out with Lindsay Brin videos for several years now. My wife and I are huge fans and had the opportunity to be review these workouts and go through them in complete form. We were excited for the chance to do so because we are die-hard fans for a very simple reason: her stuff absolutely works and blows everything else away. Her workouts get results that you can both feel and see. At first, I felt a little sheepish trying these workouts because obviously, they're geared towards women. At the same time, I can't think of a single man I know that wouldn't find these workouts extremely challenging. And I don't say that in a bad way. They are hard-core and designed to kick you in the butt. Nothing else has come close.

Pretty Fierce is meant to jump-start your body right away, and boy does it ever. Lindsay has put together a program intended to ramp up your metabolism, fire up your motivation and melt off the pounds while toning up as well. And most importantly,...

The Soup Clipdown 2012 Pt. 2

Consistently hilarious
One of the handful of shows that makes me laugh out loud with each episode. In my opinion it is the funniest show on television today, at least in the top 5. Topical, witty, clever, smart, scathing, and just downright hilarious (this word is often overused, but not in this case) delivered with the precise timing and tone of the great Joel McHale. The only show I pay to watch online.

Spaghetti Cat Rules
I love The Soup. I love Joel McHale. I love Amazon Prime for giving me The Soup & Joel McHale so I don't pay for cable anymore.

Hilarouse
I could watch this show at home on tv when it is on but I would rather purchase it and download it on my Kindle. As it makes my day at work to watch it during my lunch. Always makes me laugh!!

Pretty Fierce: Lean Out with Lindsay Brin & Moms Into Fitness

One word: efficient.
I have been doing Lindsay workouts for about three years now, both pregnant and not, and they just keep getting better. She ups the intensity every time. Like other reviewers, I've done P90X and Insanity and even (don't judge me) Brazilian Butt Lift. The Pretty Fierce workouts surpass many of those in intensity and target my first requirement in any workout: efficiency. Lindsay does not waste any time getting your heart rate up and making you sweat in this series of videos. It was a little overwhelming when I first started Total Body Endurance, as the moms on the screen flew through their exercises, and I was still one or two behind, but I realized I don't want to be as good or as fast as the experts on screen - I want to be able to work towards something and get better each time. I still can't go as fast as them, but I'm getting closer! Also like many others, I work out early in the morning before anyone is up in my house, and I don't want to get up any earlier than I absolutely...

Amazing!!
Absolutely love these workouts! I lost 5 lbs in two weeks and can see a huge difference in my muscle definition! 6 months postpartum and in the best shape of my life! These are a must have!

Loved it, and it works!
I lost 7 lbs, 13 inches overall, and smashed my fitness test by the end of the 9 weeks. I loved the variety and intensity of the program. Most workouts are under 40 min which is great because I don't have a lot of time. I love all of Lindsay's DVDs that I've tried and this series is by far my favorite yet.

Hawkwind Live Legends

Interesting and solid performance; better and more psychedelic-sounding than expected
This DVD may have more than one release variant. I am writing a review on the one I ordered & received, a Euro version from "Classic Rock Legends". Mine appears to have been burned onto a DVD-R, rather than a manufactured disc.

The box states it is "Excempt from classification", whatever that means, but I'm guessing that's another way of saying "Region 0" as it did play on my U.S. version of an LG Blue Ray player.
That's most of the information you get on the package except sound options and a track list. A descriptive paragraph is rudely partially obscured by a UPC code, which isn't a sticker.

This is a performance from 1990 in England, with a unique line-up of:

Dave Brock - guitar and vocals
Alan Davey - bass and vocals
Richard Chadwick - drums and vocals
Harvey Bainbridge - keyboards
Simon House - violin and vocals
Bridget Wishart - vocals
