Hollywood: Streets of Gold



Hollywood Gold
A classic, if somewhat elderly, set of classic programs about the history of Hollywood. Excellently done; visuals and audio very topic focused.

Summary
It was go great to relive the golden time of movies. Those stars will never be replaced and it was such a wholesome era.

Lights, Camera, Old Hollywood!
I must give credit to Mill Creek for putting this set of documentaries from David L. Wolper together on 2 dvds. The image quality is pretty good for a dvd of vintage video and the sound is good as well. I was pleasantly surprised after buying this at my nearby WalMart for 5 bucks. I enjoyed the 5 documentaries, "The Golden Years" hosted by Gene Kelly, "The Great Stars" hosted by Henry Fonda, "The Legend Of Marilyn Monroe" hosted by John Huston, (there is a typo in his last name on the back cover HUDSON), "The Selznick Years" hosted by Henry Fonda, and "The Gift of Laughter" hosted by Burt Reynolds. The only one I was somewhat disappointed with was "The Legend of Marilyn Monroe". Although this is the best dvd version of the program out there in my opinion, it was edited for a tv timeslot on ABC in 1967. So, with that being said, you do not get to see the entire program.
